Forest Sessions

All children deserve to enjoy and learn in the outdoors. All they need is warm and waterproof clothing! Forest Sessions are all about going wild and exploring in the woods. These fun sessions are for the whole family. 

Forest School is... 

Forest School programmes run throughout the year for schools, nurseries and Home Educating families. Following the Forest School ethos originating from Scandinavia, these child led outdoor educational programmes run all year round, in all weathers. Participants learn using real tools, campfires, and appropriate risk taking.

Your Forest School Leader

Holly Hilder is a forest school leader working with local schools, nurseries, PRU's using woodlands in the Stour Valley on the Suffolk/Essex border. As well as running regular family nature groups at Daws Hall Nature Reserve, she also hosts holiday clubs, wild camps and outdoor parties. Holly went on a research visit to an ‘Outdoor All Weathers’ nursery in Sweden and Germany during training. Holly has Outdoor First Aid, Public Liability Insurance, DBS check, Level 2 Food Safety, Safeguarding Certificate, has completed ‘Children’s Mental Health’, and ‘Managing Behaviour That Challenges’, ‘COVID-19 Awareness’ CPD courses, is a Level 3 qualified FS Leader and long term member of the Forest School Association. All activities are risk assessed.
